I may have to try to keep up daily, or every other day, as right now the week is a blur...

That being said, Monday? No, can't remember. Tuesday we tried to go to the Montlair Food Truck thing, which apparently is no longer. Feh. Wednesday? My wife went to UCLA to hang with a friend who's been ill, but I didn't get off work early enough to do so. Thursday? Spouse was milking a cow, so when she got home, we relaxed. Friday night we drove into town to a warehouse show so we could support Stouty with his artwork. Lots of people (we ran into several friends there!), loud music, lots of art, pretty cool. Afterwards we found a 24 hour eatery in our neighborhood, but the food quality just wasn't there. Saturday we drove down to Temecula for a reason; while there my beloved got her car detailed, we found a restaurant that had outstanding food a short walk from the car place, and then we stopped at Danza del Sol Winery to pick up our quarterly allotment of wines. The tasting was pretty solid, so we bought two bottles more than our wine club requirement, and we closed out their Sabrosa blend dessert wine. In the evening we met up with Leah and Ivan for dinner at a very good Thai place, a very pleasant chat ensued and the food was great.

Today, later, we're off to UCLA again to spend time with our ill friend. Let's hope for the best!

Another week, another six books.

First was Odyssey: The Complete Game Master's Guide to Campaign Management, a gift from my spouse. I expect to be running an RPG again soon, and I'm reading a number of such books to refresh my skills. This one wasn't bad at all.

Next was Pirates of Frequency Modulation, an online history piece that goes into the story of pirate radio off Great Britain. It's worth taking a peek at when you're on the Internet.

Then I read Unframed: The Art of Improvisation for Game Masters, clearly another game-related book and again not bad at all for those who plan on running RPGs.

Next was Osprey Fortress #36: US Strategic and Defensive Missile Systems 1950 - 2004. I found this one especially interesting as my high school was only blocks away from the command center of the Los Angeles-area Nike missile site. These weapons were defensive, intended to shoot door bombers heading towards LA with nuclear weapons, and the book went into some detail about them. Fascinating!

Then, Osprey Men-At-Arms #28: The Russian Army of the Napoleonic Wars. This one was not nearly as interesting. As with most of the older Osprey books, the art wasn't as good as it became later, and the prose was fairly turgid.

Next was Osprey New Vanguard #18: M2/M3 Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicle 1983 – 1995, pretty technical. Not horrible. Not recommended, either.
